National Night out is an annual event that encourages community-police partnerships\, crime prevention and neighborhood camaraderie. It sends a message to criminals that your neighborhood is organized\, aware\, and fighting back! Last year\, more than 38 million people and 17\,000 communities across America\, Canada and military bases around the world participated!

DESCRIPTION:Join Napa Firewise’s resident biologist\, Shari Gardner\, and Central Valley Builders Supply for a community workshop to learn more about how to create and maintain a fire-wise\, sustainable garden that supports biodiversity while meeting County code requirements. \n\n\n\nGardeners of all levels are encouraged to join us for an evening of learning. Topics covered will include\, but not limited to: \n\n\n\n\n-Recommendations & plant design ideas for fire-wise landscaping in the defensible space zones. \n\n\n\n-A practical understanding of what it means to be sustainable in an ever-changing California climate. \n\n\n\n-Proper maintenance techniques such as pruning\, irrigation\, mowing\, composting and mulching.-Creating a landscape that’s beautiful\, biodiverse\, water-efficient\, fire-resistant\, and energy-saving. \n\n\n\n-Creating a landscape that’s beautiful\, biodiverse\, water-efficient\, fire-resistant\, and energy-saving. \n\n\n\n\nFunding for this project was provided by a grant from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection\, CAL FIRE  through the California Fire Safe Council.
