Community Workshop: Landscaping in the Defensible Space Zone

Join Napa Firewise’s resident biologist, Shari Gardner, and Central Valley Builders Supply for a community workshop to learn more about how to create and maintain a fire-wise, sustainable garden that supports biodiversity while meeting County code requirements.

Gardeners of all levels are encouraged to join us for an evening of learning. Topics covered will include, but not limited to:

-Recommendations & plant design ideas for fire-wise landscaping in the defensible space zones.

-A practical understanding of what it means to be sustainable in an ever-changing California climate.

-Proper maintenance techniques such as pruning, irrigation, mowing, composting and mulching.-Creating a landscape that’s beautiful, biodiverse, water-efficient, fire-resistant, and energy-saving.
